Parents believed staff at the Edlavitch-Tyser Early Childhood Center ignored a teacher's sexual abuse of the toddlers; however, the synagogue's legal team responded that when the parents signed enrollment waivers, they forfeited their rights to sue Washington Hebrew Congregation for personal injury, the website said.

The parents' legal staff said that none of the guardians, of the 14 children sexually abused, considered their children would be taken advantage of when they signed the preschool's enrollment waiver, WTOP reported.

A jury trial is set for March 23, 2023, WTOP confirmed.
